We currently have no active role in regulating or monitoring retail water prices.

In the past, we monitored the prices charged by retailers in south east Queensland for water and sewerage services.

Our price monitoring aimed to:

  • provide information to customers about the costs and other factors underlying the provision of water and sewerage services
  • monitor the change in prices for water and sewerage services
  • monitor the revenues earned by the retailers against their total prudent and efficient costs
  • measure the returns earned by retailers against a benchmark weighted average cost of capital.
