Regulated electricity prices 2014–15

On 30 May 2014, we published our final determination.  At the time it was unclear if and when the carbon tax would be repealed.  Therefore, the final determination included two sets of retail prices, one set which included a full pass‐through of carbon costs, and a second set with no carbon costs which could apply after the repeal of the carbon tax.  Our final determination and ACIL Allen’s final report on the cost of energy are below.

Following the repeal of the carbon tax on 17 July 2014, the Minister for Energy and Water Supply decided that the carbon-exclusive regulated electricity prices would apply.  On 18 July 2014, the Minister gazetted the new prices, which will be backdated so they apply from 1 July 2014.  A copy of the gazette notice is below.
