Regulated electricity prices 2008–09

The QCA released its final decision on the 2008–09 Benchmark Retail Cost Index (BRCI) on 28 May 2008. In its final decision, the QCA estimated that the BRCI would increase by 5.38%.

AGL and Origin Energy instituted proceedings in the Supreme Court challenging this decision.

The QCA was required to remake its decision in accordance with the Supreme Court’s judgment.  Under the remade final decision, the QCA estimated that the BRCI would increase by 9.06%.
