The Queensland Competition Authority (QCA) has today released a consolidated draft decision on Aurizon Network’s 2014 Draft Access Undertaking (DAU).
QCA Chair Professor Roy Green said there were a number of matters to which the QCA and stakeholders should give further consideration before the QCA makes its final decision.
“By issuing a consolidated draft decision, stakeholders have the opportunity to consider the DAU as a whole and to provide further advice to the QCA,” he said.
“We are confident that this approach will assist in bringing about a successful outcome to the access undertaking process.
Professor Green said the QCA was open to considering extending the term of the access undertaking by two years to help reduce costs and regulatory compliance for all parties.
“A lot of hard work has gone into the development of a replacement undertaking for the Central Queensland coal network, and consequently we would consider the new undertaking being in place beyond 2017,” he said.
Following today’s release of the consolidated draft decision there will be a period of 10 weeks for further consultation with all parties.
