The Queensland Competition Authority (QCA) released a draft price determination on 11 December 2013 foreshadowing increases in regulated electricity prices in 2014–15.
The QCA is now conducting regional workshops on the draft determination, which includes transitional arrangements for phasing out a number of tariffs used by farmers, irrigators and other businesses.
The workshops will also cover our review of options for setting regulated electricity prices in regional Queensland if the market is de-regulated in south east Queensland from 1 July 2015, as foreshadowed by the Queensland Government.
Each QCA workshop will be followed by a separate presentation from Ergon Energy on its network tariff review.
In order to cater for the workshops, the QCA invites interested parties to RSVP by email to electricity@qca.org.au or by calling (07) 3222 0555.
